Existing training resources for automotive apprentices were text-heavy and often had literacy levels higher than those required to do the job in the workplace. This project developed visually-based and language-adjusted learning resources for 5 Units in the AUR30405 Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology. The resources follow best practice learning design and Language, Literacy & Numeracy(LLN) support techniques.
For each Unit there is a Learners’ Workbook, Trainer’s Guide (including assessment tools and advice on LLN support for learners), and a Trainer’s PowerPoint slide show.
This resource is currently under development, and will be available later in 2011. The resources will be available nationally as free website downloads.
